Williams was a one man wrecking crew, batting . 366, bashing 43 home runs, and knocking in 114 RBIs, winning the AA's Triple Crown. Not bad, considering he started the year having to borrow $200 to get to training camp in Florida. It was in Minneapolis that Williams had the good fortune to be coached by the great Rogers Hornsby.
