The longer staple length of the wool means it retains strength, and is durable with less pilling. The tight curls of the wool means great memory and will hold its shape compared to merino wool. Longer staple wool also has a slight sheen to it, although not quite as next to skin soft as merino. This is a great alternative sock yarn to a
