Laurent was known for his animal subjects and this bronze is a striking example of his finest work, the bronze depicts a stag in mid leap and mounted on a black marble plinth. The bronze is signed by the artist "G. H. Laurent" on the rear right leg and is also stamped "bronze", the bronze has a wonderful mellow patina,
