Description
Tasted blind at a private dinner in Bordeaux
A very ripe nose yet still reasonably fresh nose combines notes of spice
cool and wonderfully pure mineral-driven middle weight flavors
mainly thanks to the larger contribution of Sémillon at one-third of the blend
The 2020 Brunello Di Montalcino comes from Castelnuovo dell'Abate and the old vines of Vigna Franci
PerSe, Gualtallary Lubileus other_regions_italy Tasted blind at a privateMalbec grown at 1,300m on chalky alluvial soils in Uco Valley's Gualtallary region. From a cold and wet vintage; grapes were hand picked, then fermented and aged in neutral French oak. A tiny amount of Cabernet Franc (around 3%) contributes to the heady aromatics, expressive floral and cherry top notes, with earthy base notes. Silky black and blue fruit attack leads to a fresh, lively palate with remarkable natural acidity and ripe, filigree tannins.
