firm and youthfully austere finale where the wood resurfaces
earth and charcuterie hints in the background plus accents of iron ore
The medium-bodied palate is a bit more lushly fruited than the others this vintage
not the least of which is a unique terrain where the two main soil types of the Langhe – the sandier composition of the western part of the zone and the more compact terrain of the eastern parts – are found in alternating layers
This too should amply repay extended keeping
Bond, St Eden Brut Zero firm and youthfully austere finaleLeads with singed alder and warm earth, followed by a dense core of steeped plum and black currant fruit. Reveals cedar and tobacco notes that assert themselves on the finish, ending with a grippy edge. This has the youthfully backward and terroir driven persona of the vintage in spades. Built for cellaring and for fans of the muscular style. Best from 2024 through 2040. Published on November 15, 2022
