Assassination attempt on King George III student The consequence of going beforeScene depicting the attempt made by Margaret Nicholson to assassinate King George III at the entrance to St James's Palace, London, on August 2, 1786; showing the assassin approaching the King, holding a knife in her hand, Yeomen of the Guard rush forward. The King was unharmed and the woman was discovered to be insane and sent to Old Bethlehem Hospital.
