1962 Jaguar E Type mb-code 1237995 Keith Moon1962 Jaguar E Type. The E Type became the status symbol of the sixties, a cult car with a performance usually found only on the racetrack. Stunning looks and a pleasure to drive, the E Type was considered the ultimate car. Acceleration was 0 60 mph in 6. 9 seconds, and disc brakes were on four wheels. A later introduction of a 4. 2 power unit proved disappointing, but in 1971 the 5. 3 litre V12 version was introduced.
