I believe the hat and outfit on this carved and painted fellow is Colonial era American

Otherwise they're pretty structurally sound and stable

with just a bit of darkening and bumping around the edges

which are equally thorough

Early Odd Fellows Shaking Hands Good Luck Horseshoe stereoscopic slides with very little paint lossI believe this Odd Fellows horseshoe once read Luck along the bottom, but somehow (it would seem it was deliberately) the Luck piece is gone. Thus, it feels more as if carrying a message of good citizenship and friendship, which is certainly more within one's control! It seems there have been multiple iterations of good luck horseshoes of a similar ilk, but I believe this is an early one, late 19th very early 20th c, painted cast iron I believe, gold
