Wilhelm II (1859 1941) succeeded his father Friedrich III as King of Prussia and Kaiser in 1888. The last Emperor of Germany, he was forced to abdicate on 9 November 1918 as disorder was spreading with the approach of defeat in World War I. Wilhelm spent the rest of his life in exile in the Netherlands.
