Young Child with Mother's Arm and Patterned Drape, Antique Tintype matte white glaze Completely lovely

Completely lovely

Wood is dense and heavy

uncleaned (whatever grime from the years has become part of the surface and feels all of a whole with it

Some wear to the edge of the wood at the head but in overall very good shape and really pretty

with the super wispy branches of the painted backdrop seeming just right to match the rather melancholic look of this young man

Young Child with Mother's Arm and Patterned Drape, Antique Tintype matte white glaze Completely lovelyI love this one for the painterliness of the background in contrast to the bright white of this child's dress, and for the child's face and expression too, but especially for the arm of the hidden mother for me the perfect gesture that balances protective presence and proximity while also just letting the child be. As a mother should. 3 1 2" x 2 1 2", good condition.
