I happened to give these old clay ones (plus one large one made of wood)  a close look at a recent flea market

Of course they are so beautiful that they are also perfectly wonderful just to keep at home

I have to think this sweet hand-carved corkscrew was inspired by the somewhat iconic modern brass cat shaped corkscrew by Austrian designer Richard Rohac

and I believe was designed by a JP Johansson
