though I find it hard to think that anyone wearing such a fabulously bold yellow vest wouldn't have a fun-loving and adventuresome nature just waiting to bust out

and are a bit unusual in featuring both dots and numbers both

at least that I can see

and no loss of lacquer on the interior It measures  It measures 3 7/8" tall x 4 3/8" wide overall

I do believe the best things are often the simplest

Carved 13 Inch Whimsy Chain with Dangling Locks decorative lacquer though I find it hardThis is last in a batch of old carved whimsies I purchased together and believe were all made by one American carver, first half of the 20th century I think. Chunkily but very nicely carved, super smooth, with a great patina to the dry wood. All carved from one piece of wood with no notable chips, cracks or splits, and a very satisfying object I must say. 13 1 2" long x 1 3 8" wide and deep. Locks are about 2" long.
