Burmese Yun-De Incised Lacquer Box with Hintha Bird folk art lumberjack with just the right amount

with just the right amount of wear

I am not certain of age but think likely 1940s-50s

There is some dryness/wear to the wood on the bowl of the spoon and along its edges

I've since learned that this device

It  bears the company name and location on the interior bottom of the box and I believe likely dates to the second decade of the 20th century

Burmese Yun-De Incised Lacquer Box with Hintha Bird folk art lumberjack with just the right amountThis is a lovely small Burmese lacquer box decorated with yun de incised decoration, painstakingly executed by hand, one color at a time. The lid features what I believe is Hintha, also known as Hansa a mythological aquatic bird representing passage. I'd guess this piece dates to the mid 20th century. This box is in excellent shape inside and out, with a dark red lacquer interior. The box measures 4 1 4" across x 2 5 8" tall.
