really quite a spectacular thing

as well as because I purchased it from a dealer in Dusseldorf

Painted on the back of an old envelope, into which one might yet slip a love note or gift certificate to a fancy cake shop! 5 1 8" x 4 1 16" and in very good condition. Late 19th c. or so I would guess.
