based on the style of their clothing and the really nice patina to the dry wood

including nicely carved rounds at the corners and intensively textured (stippled) surfaces on the chip carved pieces

or the weaponless to gesture or raise their arms toward an embrace

There is a small hole in the top of the head

c. 1857 Ink and Watercolor Hand-drawn Schoolwork Map of Eastern Hemisphere on Laid helper 11" x 7" and inOne more this week by a young William Donaldson, c. 1857 his name and the date I know from a few others found along with this one, including two state maps listed last week. Ink and watercolor, quite beautifully done, the mass of an undivided Asia making Europe look tiny. 7" x 5 1 4" Center fold crease as evident. Very good condition, ink clear and color very strong.
