) It was very well constructed and so sturdy over all

just bone--were sailor made
I purchased this in Downeast Maine from a longtime dealer of Native American and Inuit pieces who described it as Wabanaki (Northeast Coast Native American)
but there are not many of her drawings accessible and I am by no means certain
19th c. Embossed Tin Canister with Figures, Animals, Houses and More 54 inch measuring stick ) It was very wellI believe this was made as a tea canister and dates to the 4th quarter of the 19th century. I've never seen another like it, and fell in love with it for the mix of embossed imagery animating the tin, which reminds me a lot of die cuts as well as learn to draw books of the period, with dog, eagle, dove, house, angel, boat, woman holding what I think is a tambourine overhead, and lots more. Very charming and handy for stashing all sorts of things. 7 5
