Description

Lee Bontecou

complete with knots and the stump of a branch

seemingly having been worked from both sides

making a sort of a second frame for the slate

I must say this one just called to me

Art Deco Folk Art Penguin antique illustration Lee BontecouWho doesn't love a penguin? And as penguins are rather Art Deco looking to begin with, this one seems just right. Not sure why the row of holes down huis back, but I'd think just constructed from scrap wood and they were already there. 6 5 8 x 6 w on the square x 1 1 2 d and in good shape, with a little (original) messiness to the paint job and scuffs here and there.
