I might guess 1930s-1940s or so
I found these this past summer at a flea market close to me and just pulled them out again--and was struck anew by their loveliness
with the aid of the bottle of wine and cigarettes before him on this fabulously checkerboard painted table
is what looks to be a funerary urn with weeping willow overhead
I am not entirely sure the purpose of the green stick included
Treen Heart Shaped Box Made of Three Woods variegated I might guess 1930s-1940s orA lovely little treen heart shaped box made of three different woods, with a very tight fitting lid lid with carved underside that sits flush and holds tight. No nails, so I presume the base (walnut I believe) was glued on, though done very carefully. I'd guess early 20th century or so. Perfect now for holding or delivering! a rings or other precious little things. 1 5 8" w X 1 13 16" t x 7 8" d and in very good condition, with one small rough spot
