Seated Woman with Scarf, Vintage Amateur Clay Sculpture ceramic dog overall excellent conditionI have a dealer collector friend who refers to amateur ceramic sculpture as "lumpy clay" and collects figures of that ilk. This unglazed clay woman has some of that aspect to her for sure, and was definitely made by an amateur, maybe a young student. But I also find her rather elegant, and wonderfully posed poised with those slab like legs feet revealed at the end of her skirt making it feel as though she's very firmly grounded and forever planted,
