Constructed of a bronzed magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a raised map of Crimea and southern Ukraine, topped by a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, flanked by dates 1941 1942, affixed with all four reverse attachment prongs to a magnetic metal backplate with a deep green wool liner, the shield measuring 52. 4 mm (w) x 61. 1 mm (h), the wool liner and backplate previously replaced with
