A Queen's South Africa Medal To The 23Rd Field Company; Wounded Archive The “HJ” insignia shows some4 Clasps TALANA, DEFENCE OF LADYSMITH, TRANSVAAL, LAING'S NEK (1531, Sapr. A. POWELL, R. E.). Naming is officially engraved. Very light contact, extremely fine. Footnote: Sapper A. Powell was "slightly wounded" at Ladysmith on January 6, 1900. Powell is confirmed on the Roll for both the Queen's South Africa Medal and the King's South Africa Medal.
