Constructed of gilded bronze with enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Patte with pebbled arms, the obverse bearing a central white enameled medallion overlaid by a red Geneva Cross, the revere bearing a central gilt monogram of King Ludwig II, within a ring of blue enamels bearing gilt dates 1870 1871,
