Constructed of a bronzed aluminum alloy with multi coloured enamels, vertical pinback, the obverse consisting of a circular ring bearing a raised inscription of REICHS KAMPF HAMBURG, overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a cogwheel, in turn bearing an enameled HJ insignia, flanked by a date of 1938, topped by a detailed depiction of turreted castle gate through which a ship is passing, unmarked, measuring 39 mm
