In 18k Gold and enamel, white enameled Maltese cross, each arm finished with two ball finials, fleur de lys in each quadrant, the obverse centerpiece bearing the image of St. Louis, surrounded by the inscription LUD. M. INST. 1693, the reverse centerpiece bearing a sword and cross, surrounded by the inscription BELLICAE VIRTUTIS PRAEMIUM, 42 mm (h) x 37 mm
