Constructed of gilded bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with horizontal pinback, unmarked, measuring 41 mm (w) x 46 mm (h), accompanied by its original case of issue, constructed of card stock with a faux red leather exterior, obverse lid with gold embossed 40 inside oak leaf branches, interior with white satin type lid liner, intact hinge
