Obverse centre shows coat of arms of Peru within orange and white enameled ring with EL SOL DEL PERU 1824, surrounded by laurel ring, vertical pinback and clasps, obverse mark reads LEMAITRE A PARIS '', 75. 6 mm, very fine condition. Footnote: The Order of the Peruvian Sun was instituted in 1821 by General San Martin after the end of the War of Independence of Peru. It was awarded to the Peruvian, Argentinian, and Chilean
