Doors swing up and slide in above the top of the books. Designed to be stackable in the same manner as the 19th century originals, they can be stacked 5 or more high. Bookcases can be used side by side with no gap between for an attractive library wall system. Two sizes are provided for by the plans. The shorter unit will accept 10" high books, while the larger unit will take books up to 12"
