France, I Empire. A Légion D'honneur, Officers Cross, Prinzen Size, C.1808 Archive An unusual buckle in bronze(Ordre national de la Lgion d'honneur, Lgionnaire). Instituted in 1802. Type III (1806 1808). In silver with white, blue and green enamels, Gold centrepieces, measuring 27. 3 mm (w) x 44. 2 mm (h), repair and chipping in the white enamels on the arms along with chipping in the green enamels evident on both sides, original ribbon, fair.
