Germany, Heer. An Obergefreiter’s Greatcoat, c. 1939 consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac Footnote: The Order of the(Heer Mantel fr einen Obergefreiter). A well preserved Heer Obergefreiters greatcoat, constructed of field grey wool. It features a turned down collar which is topped by a layer of dark green wool cloth, and which features a reverse integral strap for flush closure against the elements. The shoulders are topped by straps which are constructed of dark green wool and trimmed with black piping, each measuring 45 mm (w) x 115 mm (l). Stitched onto the
