St Clotilda Jacques Laurent Agasse The hall of the BrotherhoodSt Clotilda, 1886. The Burgundian princess Clotilda (later canonized as St Clotilda), was the wife of the Frankish king, Clovis I. Clotilda was almost certainly behind Clovis's conversion to Christianity, and he was baptised in 496 AD.
