A Captain’s Widow’s Pension Provisions Letter Signed By King Wilhelm I, 1870 consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac (Frontflugspange für Nahnachtjadgverbände)The letter is signed in blue ink by Wilhelm I, King of Prussia, and addressed to the Minister of Finances. Wilhelm states that the widow of Hauptmann (captain) and Rathmann (privy councillor) Nickau in Grlitz (Saxony) is to receive a one time gift of 30 Thaler, and that her annual widows pension is to be increased from 50 to 90 Thaler.
