Pullen United Republic of measuring 31 mm in diameter)Each bookend is composed of two wooden blocks with a bronze plate affixed to each, the large plate pinned in place to an upright wedged shaped piece of wood, the small plate pinned in place to a rectangular wooden base, the bookends weighing 760 grams and 812 grams respectively, the large plate bears the Canadian coat of arms surrounded by the inscription "DOMINION OF CANADA", with the dates "1939" and "1945" flanking the arms on either side,
