In August of 1845 Ernst I began his military service in the 2nd Company of the Ducal Saxony-Altenburg Line Battalion
Germany, Third Reich. A Volkssturm Member’s Armband Auction red and light blue enamels(Volkssturm Armband). Constructed of red and white dyed cotton, the exterior bearing a stamped black inscription of DEUTSCHER VOLKSSTURM WEHRMACHT, flanked by a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, unmarked and unstitched, measuring 455 mm (l) x 105 mm (h), with minor material fatigue and soiling evident, in overall very fine condition.
