Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with 70 clasp, the obverse bearing a raised central inscription of VERDIENST UM DEN STAAT (SERVICE TO THE STATE) within a laurel leaf wreath, the reverse bearing a raised monogram of King Friedrich Wilhelm III, unmarked, measuring 39. 15 mm in
