An interesting M31 canteen and cup, the former constructed of an aluminum shell, with a neck and threaded spout retaining an original bakelite cap affixed to a blackened leather strap, the stem bearing a makers mark of V. A. L. for an unidentified but documented manufacturer of Wehrmacht canteens, flanked by a manufacture date of 40, with the strap also securing a matching aluminum cup painted in field
