Plate 5 from Memoires pour server a l'histoire d'un genre de polypes d'eau douce by Abraham Trembley (Leiden, 1744). The plate is inscribed: 'P. Lyonet delin. J. v. Schley sculp. 1743.' The Swiss natural historian Abraham Trembley (1710 1784) was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1743. His book, from which this plate is taken, gives an
