Contact marks, surface wear, near very fine. Footnote: 23924 Private Alfred Hood was born in Harrogate, Yorkshire, the son of Mrs. Margaret Ann Hood of 11, Powell St., Harrogate. Hood served with the 10th Battalion, West Yorkshire Regiment (Prince of Wales's Own) in France & Flanders and was Killed in Action on the first day of the Battle of the Somme, July 1, 1916, at the age of 21.
