Dibs Ornament chicago thin crust shirt Ernest Hemingway and Da CoachTHE STORY Love it or hate it, the time honored tradition of dibs is uniquely Chicago. No one knows who was the first person to fearlessly place a chair to claim his or her recently shoveled parking spot, but the tradition has grown over the years in both daring and creativity. During the long Chicago winters, street parkers now use just about anything to mark the fruits of their snow disposing labor to show that they, in fact, have DIBS.
