the collar bears two collar tabs constructed of a royal blue wool base with red piping and a single rank “gull” lay in the centre

Germany, Heer. An EM/NCO’s M35 Overseas Cap visually-hidden A Medal for the Franco-Prussian(Heer Schiffchen M35 fr Mannschaften). A very well preserved Heer EM NCOs M35 overseas cap, constructed of field grey wool. The cap is fully surrounded by fold down side walls which gently scallop toward the front. The crown is flanked on each side by ventilation holes reinforced with non magnetic metal grommets. Stitched onto the peak is an insignia consisting of a field grey rayon backer bearing a machine embroidered silver grey Wehrmacht eagle
