I believe the stone is rose quartz
Very charming
It was purchased from the estate of an architect and architectural historian in Kansas City
but I am not expert
Moakley's work is included in museum collections including that of American Museum of Ceramic Art (AMOCA)
Trench Art Bullet Knife, 1932 Talavera frog I believe the stone isI really love the long, arching shape of the blade on this old trench art knife, with it's handle made from the casing of a 50 caliber FA 1932 bullet. It's more of a decorative object than a useable one at this point though, as the blade, which has rusted a fair amount, is a bit loose inside the casing (if one really tried, you might be able to pull it out entirely.) The very tip of the blade, too, shows a little damage, and the shell casing is bent
