I think my favorite thing about this vintage Indian brass turtle box is its feet

It is signed on the bottom "SH '89"

stained a rich dark brown

woven with wool on wool I believe

and the wonderfully bold black that follows the incised lines around wings

This one features a luscious cream glaze pooling over a variegated pale gray blue, with just a hint of purple; a terrific long neck, and an interesting rounded bottom. This would look fantastic holding one big white lily. A really charming vase with a wonderful, delicate presence. This piece does not appear to be signed on the bottom. It measures 6 3 4tall x 4" diameter; 2" across at lip with an opening of 1 2" across. Great
